explorer: focus file tree when empty area clicked

This adds an event listener to catch focus events when clicking the
empty area below the file list. Users intuitively expect this to focus
the file list.

update for breaking blueprintjs style changes

it is no longer feasible to build the blueprintjs css ourselves, so we
just use all of the default variable values and override things using
selectors instead.
